The facilities where great too. The staff was always ready to help, but definitely respected everyone's privacy. Everyone was concerned with how we were doing. Offered to help with anything we needed. Hannah, who accepted my father's closing for the viewing was so calm and concerned when I broke down a bit. They were all great.

My father passed recently, it wasn't expected and he and my Mom didn't have a plan in place. It was the most difficult thing my family has ever gone through but the people at Olinger Chapel Hill were amazing. Melinda, Kelly and Vince were so caring and helpful, they spent several hours helping us plan and make sense of what had to happen next in order to truly honor our Dad. They are more than part of the staff at Olinger, they are like family to us. We were able to talk about our Dad, cry and laugh as we walked through this process. The location is beautiful, it's not an old, creepy mortuary it's more like an event center with beautiful views and modern spaces which made the service so much more comforting. They paid attention to every detail and the service went very smoothly. We really felt taken care of and loved through all of it. They did a live stream and a video of the service which was really a blessing to those who couldn't attend. And Chapel Hill Cemetery is so pretty and peaceful. There are always people walking their dogs through it, it really is more like a park than a cemetery. We had guests comment that "this was the best funeral they'd ever been to". We really feel like it was a wonderful tribute to Dad and he would've been so proud of us. So THANK YOU Melinda, Kelly and Vince and the rest of the staff who cared for our father Tom Dillon. Everyone was Fantastic!! The people who worked with us when my dad died were kind, caring and they were all wonderful at their jobs!! Everyone was very comforting with my family and I after dad died. They even delivered my dad's ashes to my mom's home. We will be so forever grateful for each and every one of you 💛
★★★★★Losing my husband was the most difficult moment of my life, but Olinger, specifically Melinda and Ken, were a source of comfort, grace, and compassion from the very beginning. From the dignified and respectful way they came to take his body, to the white-glove care they showed in handling every detail, I felt completely supported during an experience I had never been through before.
They never pressured me or tried to upsell any services. Instead, they gently guided me through each step, always with patience, empathy, and sincerity. Their compassion was genuine, and I never felt like just another client—they truly cared.
The celebration of life they helped create was nothing short of beautiful. Many of our guests said it was the most heartfelt and meaningful service they had ever attended. It honored my husband perfectly.
Through this experience, I’ve formed a lasting bond with Melinda and Ken, and I am forever grateful for the way they cared for both my husband and me. Their service was exceptional, but it was their kindness and humanity that I will never forget.

Olingers is clearly experienced in this profession and understands the process. Everyone we interacted with was compassionate. However we did have some communication issues along the way. We were frequently told things like “I’ll have this email to you by noon today” only for that email to show up at 4pm and then we are rushing to reply before end of business day. Variations of this same issue occurred more than 3 times throughout our funeral planning. We understand we are not the only clients, Olingers is busy and the processes do just take time which is fine. But we didn’t appreciate being told that things were going to happen on a certain timeline just for that timeline to never be met. If something is going to take a few days that’s okay, we get it, but just tell us that so we know to expect it.
