A Heartfelt Thank You to Allen Funeral Home Our family has known the Allen Funeral Home family for many years. They have supported us through the loss of a brother, our father, and most recently, our beloved mother. Each time, they stepped up with compassion, grace, and professionalism. Losing a loved one is never easy. In times like these, you just want everything to be perfect. And if something doesn’t go exactly as expected, I’ve learned that all you have to do is speak up—they listen, and they genuinely care. From my experience, and that of my entire family, Allen Funeral Home has always gone the extra mile. The truth is, most people don’t start thinking about funeral planning until they absolutely have to. That’s why I encourage anyone reading this to sit down with a pen and paper, ask questions, and educate yourself ahead of time. The staff at Allen will guide you every step of the way. There are no “dumb” questions, and they will treat every concern with patience and respect. I’m currently making arrangements to prepay for my own end-of-life plans—not because I’m afraid, but because I want to spare my family the burden of wondering what I would’ve wanted. It’s one of the most loving gifts you can leave behind. God bless the Allen Funeral Home family. Thank you for being a consistent source of comfort and support during our most difficult times.

My husband passed away in 2012 and my grandson in 2015. Their funerals were both held at the Allen Funeral Home. While I have no complaints about the services, I'm extremely upset about how the cemetery is maintained, or rather NOT maintained. I visited this past Sunday on the six year anniversary and brought my daughter so she could visit her son's grave site. I found my husband's grave, but only because it still had some things there that I had left before. There was also an ant hill over it about a foot tall!! We couldn't find my grandson's grave at all. There was trash everywhere and overgrown grass and weeds. When I called "Jones", he said they don't own the cemetery and that Richard Parker Real Estate does and is responsible for the maintenance. When I spoke with Mr. Parker, he blamed it on the rain and said, " I'm not going to send anyone out there just for that." I'm heartbroken and feel so disrespected that this is the way my love ones are treated. They don't tell you ANY of this when they're busy selling you a plot. Beware!
Jones, at AFH, took excellent care of my father. My father was a World War II veteran and Jones knew the laws and rules for his burial at the veterans cemetery. I found him to be a very trustworthy person who also knew all of the cultural nuances for such a sensitive time.
Nightmare. Most people who have to do business with a funeral home are going through a very difficult time and do not need a hassle. Very poor communication - death certificates were mailed to the wrong address (the funeral home's mistake) and Allen Funeral Home refused to provide replacement death certificates that we paid for. To save time I would have been willing to pay for more death certificates except...phone calls are not returned. I am now having to figure out how to order death certificates from the county. Dealing with Allen Funeral home has been more of a hassle than any other government agency or hospital. I would have expected a funeral home to be the most understanding and helpful when working with grieving families instead of the least. ETA that now that we need to purchase a pre-paid funeral plan for another family member it will not be Allen Funeral home. Allen funeral home is still not returning our calls and has just been a nightmare to deal with.
My family's experience with AFH was excellent. All the personnel were dedicated to making the funeral experience as easy as possible. Additionally, the knowledge of the various local and state requirements was extremely helpful because the funeral was local and the inurnment was in San Antonio. We recommend the services of AFH without reservation.
